Why Does Mathematics Need Imagination?

                      By Vic Odarve

Math is seen as a tough course by many students, and only a few are interested. That is why using your imagination may assist you in comprehending, appreciating, and challenging how this course operates. Many people are unaware that our imagination keeps various mathematical equations and formulas in our heads, allowing us to understand how they work in real-world scenarios and, of course, their limitations. As Mother Nature expresses her beauty through mathematics, from Newton's law of motion to Kepler's laws of revolving planets, our imagination keeps us appreciating the beauty and grandeur of our planet and the universe we live in. And much more; our imagination would keep us challenged to investigate math secrets and their role in the universe's mysteries. Understanding math is more like doing imaginative play than anything else!

Math consists of interwoven equations and formulas, and imagination would keep the students’ interested considering how math works intangible worlds. Imagination also adds our knowledge in quantum and cosmic worlds because variables or quantities involved in the math equations are developed only in modern science labs and scientific experiments which are often out in our real senses. In quantum mechanics, for instance, particles behave differently from classical mechanics. In cosmic science, some mathematical formulas and equations developed from years of observation in various astronomical phenomena like an event horizon, a quantum singularity, the expanding universe, the uncertainty principle, and many others. But Einstein’s equations, where time is not constant, and his conversion ratio between matter and energy, are clearly a result of imagination. Prediction formulas, too, which are the product of probability and statistics, also come from imagination. Hence, imagination helps us going to get deep into equations with mathematical relationships between different things.

Math is beautiful

There is no ugly mathematics. Math is always beautiful. The beauty of math can be further appreciated by imagination. Mother Nature teaches us math, from plant leaves to cloud formations and the intricate webs of celestial bodies stretching into the cosmic ocean. Beautiful and intricate applications of mathematics are illustrated in the complexities of our natural world, such as the golden ratio, the Fibonacci sequence, fractals, and the honeycomb conjecture. The simple twig of a tree is a fragmented geometric shape that looks like the branches that they grow on, which look like the tree itself—a beautiful mathematic expression! Another one is a hexagonal-shaped honeycomb created by the bee. It is geometry in action. And these are all around us. Mathematical equations give us an understanding of Mother Nature’s mind and how the laws of physics are working. The existence of these laws keeps us appreciating the beauty of understanding mathematics.

Engineering class

And much more. Imagination would keep us challenged to investigate math further, unlocking some of the secrets and discovering things we don’t yet understand. Some mathematical laws discovered are so strange that they keep us mind-boggling and expanding. Through imagination, we are just like playing equations in our minds and thinking about how they work in different circumstances and challenges to solve some of the mathematical problems. Newton and Leibnitz, for example, imagined how to solve areas of figures bounded by several curves and developed integral calculus; Laplace developed the method for solving differential equations; and probability and statistics for gambling or games of chance.

For a math-intensive career like engineering, it is through imagination that students can play around various math equations and formulas. Imagination is a driving force that leads to many inventions and innovations and what brought us to our present state of civilization. Math is not math until it is understood, appreciated, and challenged. And it needs imagination!

Elect the Best Candidates: The Choice is Ours

         By Vic Odarve

Since several candidates with various intentions want to hold public office in a democratic society, elections have been the usual mechanism by which a population chooses representatives. Elections give people an opportunity to have their say, invoke the symbols of nationalism or patriotism, and more. Elections break the monotony of our daily life with government officials running our economy with a downward trend from which the country suffers. As it always is, the choice to elect public officials to hold public offices is yours and is irrevocable.

Participating in the election process really invokes the symbols of nationalism or patriotism. It gives us satisfaction in our need to feel a sense of belonging to our country, the place of our birth. Hence, the events during election time that include rallies, banners, posters, and television coverage suggest the importance of our participation. Sharing a post like the one shown below edifies fellow voters. The Philippines is an electoral democracy, but sometimes corruption and a lack of transparency continue to undermine democratic development. Elections have historically been marred by fraud, intimidation, and political violence. Vote-buying and vote-selling obstruct the democratic process, yet they remain pervasive in some parts of our country. Taking part in monitoring a clean and honest election is one of our nationalistic roles.

This is the time to give people an opportunity to have their say.  For the old politicians, we can confirm if our last vote was worth what we are looking for in public servants. Whatever other reasons voters may have in their minds, participation in the upcoming election serves to reinforce our self-esteem and self-respect. For the neophytes in politics, voters have a chance to dig deeper if the candidates are the best applicants for the government position. He could not be the perfect candidate—but maybe the best among them. At least the voters can choose better candidates for public servants.

Candidates for President

By arousing emotions and working toward a collective objective of improving our country by electing good-performing government officials, it gives us a chance to replace below-par performers in our governance platform. By helping our voters through education, we can select candidates that cannot be bought and fooled by big businesses, crooked government officials, and oligarchs. Graft and corruption, tax evaders, and drug lords have been the perennial problems in this country. These are the main culprits behind why our economy is on a downward trend. One thing is certain: let others also know that they must vote according to their conscience, even if they do accept money.

Choosing the best candidate can be a challenging job, and when none of them seems to be a perfect fit for the public position, always vote for people who will best represent and uphold biblical values. Candidates, who are usually groomed and supported by media giants and rich and powerful oligarchs, must be investigated if they have records of graft and corruption. If they are one of them, crush them out of your list. Do not vote for them, even if they are endorsed by the President. Do not sell your votes to save our country. Believe in God's supernatural touch. The Bible says,

"When we humble ourselves and pray, God will heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14)!"

The choice to select candidates is ours and is irrevocable when the dust of all our cities incarnadines the sunsets of the world.

Tuod man tinuod gyod nga 22K ang result!

Positive Thinking and Contentment; Keys to Happiness
     By Vic Odarve

Although life is made up of ups and downs, thinking positively, coupled with contentment about what we have, may lead to a happier life. When life takes unexpected turns and brings along traumatic pain, evaluate events with an open mind; convince us that life must move on regardless. Think positively. Contentment is necessary for attaining a positive state of mind, accepting the situation, and moving ahead.

PICOP Technical Services 1986
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns of events. It goes up and down. Think positively. If our failure is awry, inflicting pain and self-pity, positive thinking draws us to accept it as a learning experience and then move on. In statistics, it is impossible to have all failures; there must be success. My engineering classmate, who has passed and failed some math courses, spent about eight years in school before becoming an engineer, a profession he is proud of. He really thought he could finish it, and he did it! Positive thinking can create a realistic plan for goals in life, allow us to move ahead after some failures, and recover from our feelings of loss. This leads us to a better and happier life.

On the other hand, contentment is necessary for attaining a positive state of mind; accepting the situation; and allowing us to move ahead. By appreciating the great things we currently have in life and changing our mood to focus on things positively may feel a happier life. Do not compare ourselves with others because we live differently. Be content with our achievements for it is our real accomplishment. Be ourselves. Do not imagine things that are beyond our reach. Do not feel jealous and insecure. Be contented with what we have. Do not match our neighbor’s new tennis rackets, shoes, iPads, I-pods, etc., feeling we are behind. Do not feel devastated that somebody overtakes us in some areas of our life.

Mayana Fiesta Celebration
Be contented and live well on what we have. Take the case of Jose Mujica, the world poorest president who lives on a ramshackle farm and donates most of his pay; do laundry by himself outside the house with water comes from a well in a yard, overgrown with weeds; keep watch outside of only two police officers and a three-legged dog. "I may appear to be an eccentric old man… But this is a free choice. I’ve lived like this most of my life and I can live well with what I have", he said. "I’m called ‘the poorest president, but I don’t feel poor. Poor people are those who only work to try to keep an expensive lifestyle, and always want more and more," he says.

Like the sparrows and water lilies, we have the right to live and be happy in this universe. No matter what troubles the world brings to our lives, we must be at peace with our parents, brothers and sisters, and friends and deal with them in a gentle manner.

There is always a void that cannot be filled with material things. This is a wicked world—a troubled place full of uncertainties that bring us nothing but broken dreams. But no matter how wicked and corrupt, it is still a beautiful world. We must strive to be happy, to be at peace with God, and to be at peace within our souls. Be positive and contented; this is the gateway to happiness.

Village of Mayana

Iyang gitan-aw iya likod pero wa man siyay nakita. Nahuwasan sya ug dayon nikaratil sya ug lakaw nga way lingilingi.”Unsa man to uy!”, nakaingon si Julian nga grabeng kulbaa.

Thanks for viewing.

A Quarrel Between Two People

            by Vic Odarve.

We were constantly troubled by their frequent quarrels as one of their long-time neighbors. Even minor conflicts are routinely addressed with insults, mocking, and yelling. The engaged couple revealed that they had fought for 30 years. They remained together for the sake of their children. The woman eventually decided to deliberately leave her husband for good now that they were all adults with their own families. She chose to live alone because divorce was illegal in her country. "I love him, but my patience has already reached the point that I had to leave him”, the wife told the barangay captain before signing the paperwork. I am sorry. "It's just okay," the husband said, "I can understand what she wanted. “The couple decided to sign a mutual agreement to live separately.

Couple in quarrel

Ten years had passed. Their eldest son and youngest daughter decided to go on a wedding vow. Both were invited. The ceremony was performed in one of the city's luxurious hotels. Sitting at the first table together with the newlyweds, the couple, now an old man and a lady, sat near to each other during dinner time. Both were quiet. As the dinner started, the old man immediately gave a piece of lechon manok to the lady and said, "Take this, it’s your favorite." The wife said, "This is the problem; you think so highly of yourself and have never thought of how I feel. Don’t you know that I hate lechon manok? " The old man’s temper was raised, but he managed to control it. Keeping silent for a while, he just behaved as if he had not heard anything, knowing that mumbling something would end in a quarrel.

After the social affair, they returned eagerly to where they lived. That night, both could not sleep. The old man got a bottle of local wine and got drunk. He phoned his old lady and sincerely wanted to tell her he was sorry for the lechon manok and to inform her that he still loved her. He never stopped calling her. He was deeply depressed.

Teach the child the meaning of life

On the other hand, the wife was still angry and could not understand how, after all these years, he still did not understand her that she hated lechon manok. But she still loved him. At that point, she decided not to answer no matter how the phone rang, knowing it was him.

The next day, a neighbor informed her that a man had died from a heart attack. And that was the time he had tried in vain to contact her. It was then she remembered he had previously had a heart problem. The last text she received that night said, "My dearest wife, I want you to know I will always be at your side, even to the ends of the world." I love you. "

Sometimes we think marriage life is a bed of roses. But it is not! For a couple, both must learn how to love each other.

MOUNT HERMON, A MYSTERIOUS MOUNTAIN

               by Vic Odarve.

Let's look at Mount Hermon. This mountain is 2,814 feet above sea level and is known for its spectacular splendor. It shares land boundaries with Israel, Syria, and Lebanon. It is the Jordan River's main source. Mount Hermon is a massive triple-peaked peak. One of its three summits is the highest point on the Mediterranean Sea's east shore. The transfiguration of Jesus Christ is said to have occurred on this mountain. This mountain is also where the 200 fallen angels descended from heaven, according to Enoch's account. The religious faithful, including Christians, Muslims, and Jews, have been profoundly affected by these occurrences.

Mount Hermon

JESUS' TRANSFIGURATION

Transfiguration is a dramatic change in appearance. In mathematical language, this is like transformations! A change of form in expressions or formulas makes our mathematical calculations simpler and easier! That’s why we have logarithms, Laplace, Fourier, Mellin, and Z transformations in engineering courses!

Jesus also does transformation. A dramatic change of appearance or transfiguration! It was witnessed by the apostles. He transforms into other dimensions – from earthly appearance to the spiritual or heavenly dimension of existence. Among the twelve disciples, only Peter, James, and John had witnessed their Master dramatically transfigured. This transfiguration reveals his glory as of the son of God. The true nature of his divine existence!

Fallen Angels

By transfiguration, Jesus gives his disciples a glimpse of what he looks like when he will be in his kingdom with his Father. Just a glimpse! See what happened! Jesus’ face shone like the sun, and his garments became white as light! The following are verses from Matthew 17: 1-2;

1 Six days later, Jesus took with him Peter and James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain where they were alone. 2 Jesus’ appearance was changed before them: his face shone like the sun and his clothes became bright as light.

This thing happened at Mount Hermon…. a mysterious mountain!

THE FALLEN ANGELS

There were two hundred fallen angels who descended to Earth at the summit of Mount Hermon. These watchers, as they are called in the book of Enoch, mated with humans. This class of spiritual beings oversaw the observance and study of creation. And what happened? They transgressed by intermarrying with humanity and introducing forbidden technologies to Earth.

Engineering Mathematics By Odarve

They saw that the daughters of Adam were beautiful and good-looking. All of them took wives. This was against God’s law as angels did not need to procreate like humans. As a punishment, they could not go back to heaven anymore. These angels violated both their own nature and their office. God will not forgive their sins. Having families, these angels taught their human wives’ charms, enchantments, astrology, cutting of roots, and acquainted with plants, sorcery, and others.

Since then, these fallen angels have been living in and around the area of Mount Hermon. Their hybrid children were monstrous giants called Nephilim. The aftermath of these giants was awful. Upon their death, they would release evil or demonic spirits that would remain bound to the earth. Since then, mankind won’t have any peace. That’s why we have demons and evil spirits.

It was believed that the tribe of Dan, from which the Antichrist would come, moved to this area during the days of the Judges. They adopted the Canaanite worship of these angels. The Caanites Gods, Baal and Ashtaroth, have their origins on Mount Hermon! The following are taken from the book of Enoch 6:1-3;

And the angels, the children of heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: "Come, let us choose our wives from among the children of men, and beget us children." And they were in all two hundred, who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.

Again, this happened at Mount Hermon…. A mysterious mountain!

Today, this mysterious mountain is one of the hot spots in the Middle East. Christians, Muslims, and Jews have contested this mountain for thousands of years. After the 1967 Six-Day war, both Syria and Israel administered military posts on Mount Hermon’s slopes.

Today, thousands of visitors come and visit this mysterious mountain! Some folks believe that this mysterious mountain is one of the Earth’s portals to other universes. A gateway to another world! Nobody knows!

Their First Love Discovers Itself in Their Senior Years

     By Vic Odarve

Carlito fell profoundly in love with his love, at first sight, classmate Maura, in a far-flung village in the region. Their love bloomed since they were both young and carefree. Due to their academics and young age, their parents later tried to limit some of their activities. They moved to separate schools for additional education after high school. Both focused on and completed their college studies. Carlito, a dashing young guy, landed a position in Manila, while Maura, a self-sufficient young woman with boundless potential, landed a job in the Middle East. They haven't communicated since then.

Mayana Elementary School

Years passed, and they both married other people, yet neither forgot their first love. Whether it was by fate or rare chance, at their senior stage, at 61 years old, both their spouses had died.

Lately, Carlito received an invitation letter from a longtime friend to be one of the sponsors of their sole daughter’s wedding to be held at their village during fiesta celebration. He had been eager to visit his homeland for a long time, and without hesitation, he accepted and appreciated the invitation. Unexpectedly, as the wedding ceremony proceeded, he instantly saw Maura as one of the honored guests invited by the family. Without hesitation after the affair, he ran up to Maura with his heart beating and said, "Oh, my dear, how are you? "I am fine. How about you?" replied Maura with a smile.

While dining, the two enjoyed ample time talking with each other. Reminiscing the past when they were mere teenagers, their schooling years, and their marital lives. Maura candidly confessed that when she accepted his love, it was like feeling her stomach full of fluttering butterflies when he looked at her. Carlito also confided that with her striking model looks and the way she danced with someone, he felt jealous. Both seemed to be laughing delightedly, but inside their conscious minds played the pleasant memories of their yesteryears. They never forgot their first love. First love never dies.

San Miguel Academy

With that coincidental meeting, he knew precisely that he would marry her and decided to pursue her properly. Before they departed, Carlito walked slowly towards her, and they embraced with tears streaming down their faces. Carlito whispered to her, "My darling, I’ve been waiting for you for so long. You are my wife and my life." To her astonishment, her heart fluttered. Maura felt an unusual feeling about to engulf her, and then she fondly remembered her first love.

About a month later, I got a call at my office from Carlito inviting me to attend their wedding as their best man. It was a beautiful wedding with all their relatives and friends joining in the celebration. Thereafter, they lived in the village of Mayana, to the delight of the old folks and their previous classmates. It captures the beauty of whimsical first love perfectly. Most villagers had smiled and said, "See how the Good Lord works! If it's meant to be, it will be."

You are never too old to find love. As if by fate, their first love finds its way into their senior years.

Life is a Battle

    By Vic Odarve

Life is a battle, regardless of whether one is poor, rich, or powerful. Poor individuals, who comprise the biggest fragment of the total populace, need to battle to meet their needs … food sources, safe houses, and schooling. The affluent and the bigwigs in our society also battle drug and liquor addictions, gambling, affliction, and some more. World leaders, as well, powerful as they appear to be, need to battle for the endurance of their administration because of political foes, a falling apart economically, and ineffective international policy. Life, indeed, is a battle!
The Village of Mayana

According to a UN expert, nearly one-fifth of the world population or 1.4 billion people cannot fulfill the most basic needs every day. A few decades ago, poverty was concentrated in rural areas in most developing countries, but a recent study showed that urban poverty is also increasing as fast as cities are growing. These areas are refugees of drug addicts, criminals, and many epidemics that ravage a nation's wholesome environments. Inadequate access to safe water, poor sanitation, overcrowding, and insecure residential status make poor people’s life miserable!

History consistently advises us that to endure and support their autocratic administration, leaders must struggle to stay in power. In countries like Russia, North Korea, and China, the leaders must consolidate their power with super-wealthy backers, torture political opponents in jail at a moment’s notice, and maintain secret agents. At home, for example, Duterte also struggles over his foreign policy in China and the United States, a problem with Manila’s traffic, and EJK’s over the war on drugs and the covid 19 pandemic control. These problems are causing the political opposition to go against the president, promote a jeepney’s strike, and stage various human rights demonstrations. As always in the history of world leaders, their lives are also in deep trouble, and they are struggling in pain.

Farming- A Village Life

In the academic world, both professors and students struggle to learn and adopt the new technology the world has to offer. To reduce the number of academic years required for a college degree, most colleges and universities adopted a three-term per year schooling model. Thus, professors, as well as the students, must cope with the completion of the syllabi for the given time frame. It is like feeling like the presence of huge rhinoceros running after them at their backs. It is the modern world, coupled with modern gadgets and inventions, that makes imparting learning to our students faster and easier. But we must struggle so as not to be left behind.

Whether we like it or not, there is no way to avoid the struggles in life. And in every struggle, there is heartbreak, emotional trauma, and setback. But all these things can make people stronger and better.

Believe it or not, the human battle ends when life ends.

Bad Friends Ruin Your Life.

    BY Vic Odarve

Bad friends do influence your life negatively. They can alter your view of the world by changing your perception and turning you into a different person, and they can bring a tremendous change to your character, lifestyle, manners, and actions, and eventually destroy your life.

Wine is a mocker; a strong drink is raging

While you seek friends for support and encouragement during bad times, find enrichment and guidance in your life’s journey, and enlightenment of your soul, bad friends can alter your view of the world, change the way you look up things in life, and develop you into a different person. Unknowingly, you usually meet them at social gatherings. People in the upper class of our society usually meet bad friends at parties, religious and civic organizations, political acquaintances, and other forms of activities among society’s bigwigs.

Influence from bad friends is powerful and it is more serious for the rich and famous. Take the case of Ruby; a beautiful woman in her early 50's who established her name by making friends and holding important positions in well-known social organizations. With her friends, she found a connection to influential lawmakers, amassed wealth and became famous, and acted as a conduit for graft and corruption. Aware of her impending arrest by the government for her role, she left the country without any traces. But things go differently for her. She was troubled. She could not sleep and eat well. A few months later, she returned as a government witness in a pork barrel scandal that implicated several senators and other famous personalities. Being haunted by her own conscience and why she turned as a government witness against her former friends, she concluded by saying, "I don’t want to die with 110 million countrymen hating me. I don’t want my grandchildren to be ashamed of me, so I felt I had to do something, and I must correct my mistake, and I can’t possibly right a wrong with another wrong. " That’s it. She regretted what she had done. Bad friends influenced and eventually ruined her life.

Bad friends also bring a tremendous change in your behavior, lifestyle, manners, and actions. By keeping in the company and hanging around with bad friends in your work areas, offices, meetings, and other functions, you are strongly connected with their common objectives, likes, and point of view, and gossiping activities. You could not feel and sense the threat at the beginning because slowly and slowly you are engulfed to emulate your bad friend’s way of living in one way or another. Some of the effects are extremely disastrous to your future. You do not know that your constant companionship with these bad friends programs your way of thinking and develops into a habit.

The negative influence of bad friends knows no boundaries. Even in a short time in a company, the influence is great. It can change the world! Imagine what happened to the daughter of newspaper magnate and publisher Randolph Hearst. The kidnapped Patricia Hearst, his 19-year-old daughter, after 3 months in the company of kidnappers, became friends and converted herself into a member of the terrorist organization. She sympathized with the cause of the Symbionese Liberation Army (SLA) and participated willingly in the bank robbery. After just a short period of friendship, the daughter of a wealthy and famous family becomes a robber. It ruined her life!

Outdoor activities

There are many ways to avoid falling for bad friends. Look for, associate with, and surround yourself with only positive influencers; hang out with only those who support and enhance your life; filter their background and stick to those who share your mission and ambitions in life.

Indeed, bad friends negatively influence your life in far more powerful ways than you imagine. It can change your outlook on how you perceive the world and can behave towards you on the dark side. By putting yourself in the company of bad friends, like Ruby on the pork barrel scam and Patricia Hearst on bank robbery with kidnappers, you are inviting a disaster. Bad friends, like a giant black hole sitting quietly at the center of our Milky Way, are on the lookout for someone on the verge of annihilation. The bible puts it, 22 Cor 6:14-15.

14Do not make unsuitable covenants with those who do not believe: Can justice walk with wickedness? Can light coexist with darkness, 15 and can Christ and Satan coexist peacefully? What kind of union can there be between one who believes and one who does not believe?

Slowly but surely, bad friends ruin your life.

Mayana: A Village that Lives and Survives

           By Vic Odarve

At dawn on July 11, 2005, triggered by an earthquake a few months earlier, large limestone blocks slid along a steep scarp in Sitio Balikbayan, Mayana. The debris fell on an area underlain by an older limestone landslide and destroyed large agricultural areas and 67 houses.
Giant scar of the landslide
Seventeen years after the landslide, I revisited the place and saw that the catastrophic event left a giant scar that could be seen throughout the entire village-an iconic picture on the steep side of the mountain — an awesome reminder of how vulnerable mankind is to the forces of nature! As nature simply is, landslides happen without the slightest consideration for human inhabitants. The result of the destruction is still firmly felt; the ghost seems to haunt the memory of the affected villagers.

But nature’s life springs as usual in the village. Early morning is often beautiful scenery – mountains covered with mists and fogs, and early sunrise gives color to the mountains and trees everywhere. As the sun fades in the western sky, beautiful sunsets paint the horizon, marking the end of the hard day’s work.

Today, we can witness children playing in the streets; peasants going home from the farms with loads from harvest. Happy and peaceful lives seem to be everywhere. This is the picture I saw nine years ago... before the landslide! Villagers show no sign of giving up. Daily activities are the same as before. Rain or shine, they go to their farms and make their everyday living. Plowing the fields with buffalos and harvesting rice with mechanized threshers have become common sights.
Ricefields
The village appears to have flourished in a rigorous manner; new houses have been developed in the landslide area, and commerce and trade have boomed. People enjoy the quiet life set slightly apart from the rush and jabber of the modern urban city. Some families own cars and motorcycles for transportation, while others have smartphones and other paraphernalia of modern living... frantically growing urbanization.

As I visited with one of the new occupants, I saw a living room that was clean, had a high ceiling and was spacious with videoke accessories, a nice flat-screen television, and a Wi-Fi internet connection. There was modern furniture and fixtures, and shelves arrayed with the medals and trophies of a lifetime of family achievements and academic awards.

Despite the destruction by the landslide seventeen years ago, the village of Mayana still lives and survives! Life must go on!

Parental Love…A Love That a Child Needs

                         By Vic Odarve

As a child is being brought forth to the earth and say “hello world”, it is normally a joyous occasion. This is a moment when parental love begins and expands from there as the days go on. Parental love is defined as the affection that comes from a mother, father, or guardian. It comprises support and guidance and discipline. And above all, these affections and guidance or support are unconditional and unwavering dedication to their children. Parental love… is a love that every child needs.

Parents, usually the mother, feel the fondness and tenderness of the child at the moment of their birth; cradling a tiny newborn child in their arms demonstrates a true joy of womanhood. It is a wonderful experience.. that is, giving birth to another life. A kiss on the cheeks, picking them when they are crying and keep dancing until they fell asleep, and breastfeed when they get hungry are the demonstration of affection. Parents make them feel secure and loved. The compassion and love of a mother to her child is

beyond measure. In biblical times, two women ask Solomon to resolve a conflict. Each bore a son, but one son has passed away. Each woman claims the living child to be her own. So difficult to decide who is the true mother that King Solomon orders that the boy be cut in half and shared. The first woman agrees while the other begs Solomon instead to give the child to her rival. Solomon, being a wise king, awards the unharmed child to the woman who was willing to sacrifice her claim to save the boy’s life. The reason is clear: Her compassion and love for the child proved her to be the rightful mother. Mother’s affection for her child is so strong that she just wants to see her child alive no matter what!

Parental love means supporting and

prepares the child for the future. The study shows that the first three years of a child’s life are crucial; the child will develop the significant intellectual, emotional and social abilities. This means they are learning gradually; confidence, security, and empathy. At this stage, our guidance and support are much needed but become lesser as they grow older. Supports must be consistent; offer words of encouragement and wisdom play an important role. These things will take shape in their future and guide them to become happy and productive citizens. The way how parents bring up the child reflects our love for them. Parents are doing whatever they can… moving heaven and earth to meet the basic demands of the kids, including proper training. Supports decline when children move out of the family to form their own.

Parental love is unconditional love and support; that is, not expecting something in return. It is unwavering love and dedication from parents to the children, nurturing and guide their physical, mental, and spiritual growth. It is where a deep emotional connection develops; a bond with children that lasts a lifetime. Discipline, while viewing as unpleasant by some children, as long as appropriate and consistent limits for her child demonstrates love. Some kids don’t understand right away, but only later as they grow older and grows upwards. Parents want to ensure the overall health of the child. A parent wants kids to get upward to be responsible, productive, kind, and God-fearing. Parents always wish for their children’s happiness in a preparation for letting them loose and make their own way of living – and for good. We don’t own our children, we are only their stewards. We will eventually have to set them free. Love for the child is so overwhelming that no matter what the child does, he will always be loved.

Nurturing a child is like training for the future. “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6. Parents always wish for their happiness, peace, and harmony. Children need to be loved. Like water lilies and sparrows, they have the right to live and be happy. It validates their existence on this planet, making them feel like they are appreciated for who they are. It is an everlasting legacy the parents left behind.

Parental love knows no boundaries. Even the Lord Jesus loves kids. He got angry with his disciples when he noticed that little children were not allowed to come closer to him. Instead, He took the children in his arms and laying his hands on them, blessed them. Consider the passages from Mark 10:13-16

“13 People were bringing their little children with him to have him touch them, and the disciples rebuked them for this.
14 When Jesus noticed it, he was very angry and said, “Let the children come to me and don’t stop them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
15 Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it.”
16 Then he took the children in his arms and laying his hands on them, blessed them.

It is a parental love…. a love that child needs.
